Far less exciting than the festive season, we know, but tax season is upon us again. With the self-assessment filing deadlines fast-approaching, what do you actually need to know?
Following the Government’s latest announcements on the 24 September 2020, we have set out below a summary of key information to assist you if you are seeking tax and/or self-employment support during the ongoing pandemic.
Eligible workers will receive 80% of the average of their self-employed earnings for the 2017, 2018 and 2019 tax years taken on a monthly basis or £2,500 per month; whichever is lower.
The recent budget contained confirmation that further grants should be available under the Self-Employed Income Support Scheme (SEISS).
An extension to the existing Self-Employment Income Support Scheme was announced on 29 May 2020. The extension will allow eligible workers to make another claim for a second grant IN AUGUST 2020.
